Typically, time erodes/discolours the original tread. In extreme cases, original treads are removed/replaced/repaired, resulting in an ill-fitting and awful appearance.

An alternative and cost-effective solution is a dry cast re-constituted (man-made) stone treads/risers. These are also bespoke made and designed to replicate the appearance of natural stone.
